Light & Easy Diet Plan

Light & Easy Diet Plan

The Light & Easy Diet Plan, also known as the Lite n' Easy Diet, is a popular Australian diet. Light & Easy is a delivery meal service, only available in Australia, that provides convenient meal solutions to help people lose weight.

How It Works

The Light & Easy Diet plan was designed by a dietitian, Maryl-Ann Marshall, who worked to ensure each meal provides the correct balance of nutrients and calories in a portion-controlled size. According to Marshall, the meals on the Light & Easy Diet promote fat loss by incorporating foods that are nutrient-dense, yet low in fat, specifically saturated fat. Additionally, the meals on the Light & Easy Diet teach dieters healthy eating habits and portion control.

The basis of the Light & Easy diet is based on the concept that eating frequent small meals helps dieters avoid hunger pangs and overeating. This will lead to a reduction in overall caloric intake and, therefore, weight loss, the company says.

Taste

All Light & Easy Diet prepackaged meals are made by chefs. Light & Easy also works to provide the dieter with a variety of food choices. The meals include fresh ingredients and no preservatives. All meals are flash-frozen and can be easily reheated.

The Meal Plan

On Light & Easy, dieters eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The diet offers a range of meal plans to help personalize the diet to specific preferences. Meal plans range from 1,200 to 1,800 calories a day. Dieters are advised to eat breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner. Customers can choose to have seven days worth of breakfast, lunch and dinners delivered or five days of breakfast, lunch and dinner delivered. The meal plan also delivers just two meals a day or, simply, dinner.

Extras

In addition to the three meals, the Light & Easy Diet allows orders to be customized. Customers can order and buy soups, desserts, snacks or "mini meals." The Light & Easy Diet is designed so customers don't need to buy anything else other than milk.

Do-it-yourself Meal Plan

Here is an example of the Light & Easy Diet do-it-yourself meal plan, allowing customers to eat all meals other than dinner on their own. For breakfast, have one small, multigrain muffin topped with a tomato and a slice of low-fat cheese. For a morning snack, have a piece of fruit. For lunch, have two slices of rye bread topped with a slice of deli meat, mustard, lettuce and a slice of cheese. A piece of fruit completes lunch. For an afternoon snack, have a 6- to 8-oz. container of low-fat yogurt. For dinner, have a prepackaged Light & Easy Diet meal.
