Can I Drink Vinegar to Flush Out My System?

Vinegar is a great antimicrobial agent and has a variety of health benefits, When taken daily it can help to detoxify your body and improve digestive functioning, which results in better overall health. However, it is not safe to simply drink undiluted vinegar, and although vinegar can help to eliminate toxins in your body, it will not necessarily "flush" anything out of your system. Important considerations for the safest way to use vinegar for health are found below.

Detoxification

As mentioned above, vinegar is a good, natural way to promote detoxification. Apples are full of phosphorus, iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and other nutrients, and apples that are allowed to ferment into vinegar carry many additional properties that help it to break down fats and mucous. These things clog up the body, so to speak, and impair proper functioning. Using apple cider vinegar to break down fats and mucous means that the liver and kidneys don't have to worry about these substances and so can focus on eliminating more serious toxins. In short, apple cider vinegar enhances your body's natural elimination and detoxification functions to promote better overall health through internal cleanliness.

Type of Vinegar

The best type of vinegar to use internally is organic, raw apple cider vinegar. It should be unfiltered and unprocessed and should contain a cloudy mass that is known as the "mother." There are several brands available, but many people have reported that Bragg's brand offers the best quality for the price. Pasteurized or filtered apple cider vinegar does not have the same health benefits that organic raw apple cider vinegar has, and so cannot really act as a substitute.

How-To

There are several ways to use apple cider vinegar to detox your body and promote your health. The three most common methods are outlined below.

Mix 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar with 8 oz. of water, and drink three times per day.

Mix 2 tbs. of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbs. of honey to 1 cup of hot water, and drink this in the morning.

Mix 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar with 16 oz. of cool water, and sip before meals.

You can mix apple cider vinegar with herbal teas or grape juice as well. Also, regardless of how much you have diluted it, it is best to limit your intake of vinegar to just 2 or 3 tbs. per day to avoid stomach problems, weakening tooth enamel, and creating problems with the natural pH balances in your body.
