How to Cure Yeast in Dogs With Vinegar & Yogurt

A number of contributing factors lend themselves to the development of a yeast infection in a dog. A low immune system is often a cause. Likewise, yeast infections occur more commonly in floppy-eared dogs than other breeds. This is because the ears protect the environment more thoroughly, and it can easily become moist and wet inside the ear. These conditions are ripe for yeast infections, which can spring up overnight. One natural cure for yeast infections in dogs utilizes distilled white vinegar and yogurt to kill the yeast infection.

Instructions

    Dilute one portion of vinegar to one portion of water. Any stronger than this and you may risk damaging the ear.

    Soak a cotton ball in the mixture.

    Apply the cotton ball to your dog's outer ear. Gently massage the ear until the solution is worked into it.

    Wipe away any extra solution and pat the outer ear dry.

    Repeat these steps daily and give your dog a treat after for behaving each time.

    Feed your dog the yogurt with his meal. This will help provide your dog's body with probiotics and fight off the bacteria more quickly.
